BY-LAWS, COCHRANE SEARCH AND RESCUE ASSOCIATION

 

ARTICLE IX – DEFINITIONS

 

Section 1 – Definitions:  In these By-laws, the following words have these meanings:

 

Annual general meeting - the AGM described in Article III, Section 2.

Association - Cochrane Search and Rescue Association (CSAR)

Board - Board of Directors of CSAR.

Board member - an individual that sits on the Board as described in Article IV.

By-laws - the By-laws of CSAR.

Due notice - a minimum of ten days notice will be given prior to the date of a meeting to be held, unless otherwise stated.  Notification may be given via phone, email, website, or other suitable means as determined by the Board.

FOIP – Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Majority vote - A majority vote is 51% of members at a properly sanctioned meeting.

Member - a member in good standing.

 

 

ARTICLE X — AMENDMENTS

 

Section 1 — Amendments:  These By-laws may be rescinded, altered or amended when necessary by a resolution passed by a two-thirds majority of the Board of Directors and approved by a majority vote of the membership.  Proposed amendments must be submitted to the Secretary to be sent out with regular Board announcements and accepted by a majority vote of the membership at a Regular meeting of which one month notice specifying the intention of the proposed changes to the By-laws has been forwarded to the membership of the Association.
